Local UAW 862 Endorses Kimberly Greenwell for Kentucky House Seat
One of Louisville’s largest labor unions, Local UAW 862, is throwing its support behind democratic candidate Kimberly Greenwell for Kentucky’s 33rd District, House of Representatives seat.
In a statement to the Kimberly Greenwell campaign, Mark A. Dowell , UAW/CAP Chairperson said:
“The United Auto Workers in the 3rd Congressional district have enthusiastically endorsed you in your bid for District 33 Kentucky State House of Representatives. Your position on the working people of Kentucky has been the most encouraging. You have not only shown the working people of the UAW but other labor unions that you will support us and continue the fight for the working class men and women of Kentucky. Thanks for your commitment and we look forward in working with you once elected to office. “
Greenwell said, “Double digit unemployment is the biggest issue facing Kentucky. The numbers have been dismal since 2007. We are losing jobs faster than the Commonwealth can bring them here. Job creation and sustainability are my top priorities.”
Kimberly Greenwell is running against incumbent republican, Ron Crimm, for Kentucky’s 33rd District House seat in the November election.
Greenwell also previously received endorsements from: IBEW Local 369, Plumbers, PipeFitters & Service Technicians Local 502, Teamsters Local 783, Teamsters Local 89, International Union of Operating Engineers Local 181, Greater Louisville Building and Construction Trades Council, AFL-CIO and Laborers International Union of North America, Local #576.
